چکیده

We consider non-vanishing boundary conditions (NVBC) for the NLS model [1, 2, 3] in the context of the hybrid dressing transformation and τ -function approach. In order to write the NLS model in a suitable form to deal with non-vanishing boundary conditions it is introduced a new spectral parameter in such a way that the usual NLS parameter will depend on the affine parameter through the so-called Zukowsky function. In the context of the dressing transformation the introduction of the affine parameter avoids the construction of certain Riemann sheets for the usual NLS spectral parameter. In this way one introduces a Lax pair defined for the new spectral parameter and the relevant NVBC NLS τ functions are obtained by the dressing transformation method. We construct the one and two dark-soliton solutions explicitly. Poster contribution to the 5th International School on Field Theory and Gravitation, April 20 24, 2009, Cuiabá city, Brazil

We consider the complex scalar field coupled to background NC U(1) YM and calculate the correlator of two gauge invariant composite operators. We show how the noncommutative gauge invariance is restored for higher correlators (though the Green's function itself is not invariant). It is interesting that the recently discovered noncommutative solitons appear in the calculation.

We analyze the Floquet-Bloch matter-wave spectrum of Bose-Einstein condensates loaded into single-periodic optical lattices and double-periodic superlattices. In the framework of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation, we describe the structure and analyze the mobility properties of dark matter-wave solitons residing on the background of extended nonlinear Bloch-type states. We demonstrate that interact...

We study the deformations of the H equations, presented recently by Adler, Bobenko and Suris, which are naturally defined on a black-white lattice. For each one of these equations, two different three-leg forms are constructed, leading to two different discrete Toda type equations. Their multidimensional consistency leads to Bäcklund transformations relating different members of this class, as ...

We show that if an infinite-dimensional Banach space X has a symmetric basis then there exists a bounded, linear operator R : X −→ X such that the set A = {x ∈ X : ||R(x)|| → ∞} is non-empty and nowhere dense in X . Moreover, if x ∈ X \ A then some subsequence of (R(x)) n=1 converges weakly to x. This answers in the negative a recent conjecture of Prǎjiturǎ. The result can be extended to any Ba...
